Monocle is looking for an aspiring professional to join our team as a Business Development Consultant. As a Business Development Consultant at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Working with the business development team, research staff, and Executives to increase sales opportunities within our targeted industries.

  • Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising and/or other means of generating interest from potential clients.

  • Attend conferences and other networking events to meet up with new clients and develop leads.

  • Developed a detailed, validated potential client contact list for business development activities.

  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and Senior Executives.

  • Support the team to build a robust pipeline of clients and potential opportunities.

  • Drive targeted business development campaigns.

  • Research and building relationships with new clients.

The successful candidate must:

 

  • Hold a degree in Finance, Marketing and/or other relevant business qualification.

  • Have proven track record of working in a target-driven environment and/or meeting and exceeding set targets.

  • Excellent communication and strong administration skills.

  • Have previous sales experience within a consulting environment will be highly advantageous (minimum of 2 to 5 years maximum).

In addition, the following would be advantageous:

 

  • Relevant consulting or sales experience to banks and insurers.

  • Experience with sales and CRM tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

The ideal Business Development Consultant also:

 

  • Is able to work in a dynamic environment where one day never looks like another.

  • Is enthusiastic in their approach to their work.

  • Has a hands-on approach and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in.

  • Regards themselves as a high performer.

  • Is an excellent communicator with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Works well under pressure to meet team objectives.

  • Is experienced in cold calling and building out a client network.

  • Is sociable and enjoys interacting with others, both at work and at social events.

  • Works well independently and in a team.

  • Shares Monocles values.
